Heaptalk, Jakarta — Head of Southeast Sulawesi’s Communication and Information Office, Ridwan Badallah, was sworn in as Acting Regent of South Buton on Tuesday (11/12). The ceremony occurred at the Southeast Sulawesi Governor’s Office, where Acting Governor Andap Budhi Revianto charged Ridwan with upholding integrity and a solid commitment to advancing South Buton.

Governor Andap urged Ridwan to close the 2024 fiscal year efficiently, ensuring that funds are managed accurately and effectively for the community’s welfare. He emphasized that Ridwan’s leadership should align with the province’s strategic programs, the President’s Vision and Mission, the Asta Cita initiatives, 17 Priority Programs, and the eight flagship projects for swift, impactful results.

Furthermore, Governor Andap stressed the importance of a smooth process for the upcoming simultaneous regional elections, scheduled for just 14 days away. He called for preventive measures to avoid any potential re-voting situations.

“Anticipate and avoid the need for re-votes,” he added.

He also reminded Ridwan to foster social harmony throughout South Buton, ensuring a calm atmosphere for the elections. In closing, the Acting Governor emphasized avoiding corruption in all duties.

Ridwan Badallah affirmed that his immediate priority would be ensuring the stability of the 2024 regional elections in South Buton. He further stated his commitment to follow up on the directives from the National Coordination Meeting with President Prabowo Subianto, including implementing initiatives like the free meals program under Asta Cita.

“Following the Acting Governor’s mandate is essential. I intend to execute them promptly. God willing, I will head to South Buton tomorrow morning to address these tasks, particularly those related to election preparations,” Ridwan confirmed.

As Acting Regent, Ridwan also committed to maintaining a professional and neutral stance in all public engagements, specifically while in the field. He further plans to hold a coordination meeting with the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) in South Buton, aiming to streamline practical operational focuses during his short.
