Heaptalk, Jakarta — Huawei officially introduced its latest smartwatch, the Watch GT 5 series. This new family comes in two models, GT 5 and GT 5 Pro, available in 46 mm and 41 mm sizes. “The smartwatch will be available in the Indonesian market on September 26, 2024,” said Huawei on Sunday (09/22).
The Huawei Watch GT 5 Series retains the same design as its predecessor. The 42 mm version features a round watch face, while the larger 46 mm version has an octagonal frame. The GT 5 model has a stainless-steel body, while the GT 5 Pro is more premium and made from titanium alloy.
The display specifications also remain the same, with the 41 mm version featuring a 1.32-inch OLED panel and the 46 mm version having a 1.43-inch screen. The watch straps are available in various materials, such as silicone, metal, leather, plastic, and woven fabric. The watch also includes a crown dial and a side button for navigation.
While the hardware may not differ significantly from its predecessor, the Huawei Watch GT 5 Series improves health and fitness tracking features. Huawei introduces the latest generation of the TruSense System with upgraded sensors and algorithms.
“The new TruSense System combines data from sensors to monitor breathing, SpO2, body temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate, now faster, more accurate, and offering more comprehensive results. The GT 5 Series also features a GPS antenna with 40% better accuracy,” Huawei stated.
Other exciting health features include Sleep Breathing Awareness, carried over from the GT 4 Series, and now with added Sleep Apnea Detection in the GT 5 Series. Huawei added, “This smartwatch also offers menstrual tracking for women and a unique new feature that monitors the user’s emotional condition.”
The GT 5 Pro model is more advanced with an ECG feature, allowing users to obtain an ECG reading with just one button press in 30 seconds. The Pro model also offers more sports modes, including a golf mode with a 3D map display for over 1,500 courses. Regarding battery life, the Huawei Watch GT 5 and GT 5 Pro in the 46 mm size offer a 14-day battery life, while the 42 mm version is claimed to last for seven days.
