Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) announced an increase in the operating hours of the LRT Jabodebek to enhance service quality (08/15). This expansion is a strategic step by KAI to provide greater comfort and flexibility to passengers.
LRT Jabodebek Public Relations Manager Mahendro Trang Bawono conveyed that this measure encourages the public to switch to mass transportation. The additional trips aim to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution in support of government programs. “The increase brings the total number of LRT Jabodebek to 336 trips daily on weekdays. This is in response to the high demand from the public,” Mahendro explained.
Increased LRT Jabodebek trips have resulted in shorter headway between trains. With the new operational pattern of 336 visits, the LRT Jabodebek headway has been reduced to 5.5 minutes during peak hours on the Cawang-Dukuh Atas route and 1 minute on the Jatimulya-Cawang and Harjamukti-Cawang routes.
Additionally, increased trips have extended the last departure times from Dukuh Atas Station. Starting in August 2024, the last LRT Jabodebek departure from Dukuh Atas Station will be at 10:16 PM WIB for Jati Mulya and 10:21 PM WIB for Harjamukti.
Mahendro noted that these measures reflect KAI‘s commitment to continuously optimizing LRT Jabodebek operations and improving customer satisfaction. With a focus on innovation and user safety, KAI and stakeholders will continue to work together to create an exceptional travel experience for LRT Jabodebek users.
This commitment is further supported by the government’s ongoing promotional fare for LRT Jabodebek until the end of May. KAI hopes that with the additional trips, public interest in using the LRT Jabodebek will continue to grow. “We invite everyone to use mass transportation to reduce traffic congestion and enjoy the convenience of traveling with LRT Jabodebek,” Mahendro concluded.
