Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s e-wallet DANA, in collaboration with Ant International, is poised to conduct the SisBerdaya 2024, a local initiative designed to empower women entrepreneurs in the micro and ultra-micro categories through training, mentoring, and competitions.

Registration for the SisBerdaya program is open from July 29 to August 21, 2024. SisBerdaya targets two categories of MSMEs: the ultra-micro category for businesses with a monthly income range of Rp1 million — Rp10 million and 0-3 employees and the micro category for businesses with a monthly income of around Rp10 million — Rp30 million and 4-10 employees.

This year, DANA also opened a derivative program entitled DisBerdaya (Disability Empowerment), which is targeted specifically at women entrepreneurs with disabilities under the auspices of Perempuan Tangguh Indonesia (PTI) and Himpunan Wanita Disabilitas Indonesia (HWDI). The DisBerdaya program will run in parallel with SisBerdaya, focusing on participants curated by PTI and HWDI. As many as 50 selected MSMEs will receive training and mentoring to be filtered as five champions.

“We want to invite women entrepreneurs to open new perspectives and increase their competitiveness to the global level. Following our commitment to support the development of MSMEs. This year, we have expanded disability-friendly as a new category, DisBerdaya. The program return will increase the capabilities of Indonesian women entrepreneurs inclusively, realize economic independence, and accelerate the digital economy,” DANA’s Director of Communication, Olavina Harahap, said.

This program will be implemented in several stages, starting with registration at the end of July by directly grouping participants into three main regions, namely Western Indonesia (Sumatra, Kalimantan, Java outside Greater Jakarta), Eastern Indonesia (Sulawesi, Bali, NTT, NTB, Ambon, Papua), and Greater Jakarta (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi).

“We expect participant registration to increase by 15% from the previous year. We are currently more focused on empowering MSMEs for women and the disabled, unrelated to increased transactions or users,” said Sharon Issabella, DANA’s Head of Communication.

As is known, DANA recorded user growth of up to 23%, reaching 170 million people last year. This positive growth demonstrated the high public adoption of payment and digital financial services. Besides generating significant user enhancements, this startup also noted the QRIS transaction improvement, reaching 272% YoY in 2023. Meanwhile, DANA’s Send Money feature also elevated by up to 147% in 2023.
