Heaptalk, Jakarta — Tangerang City will host the Indonesia Drum Corps International (IDCI) tournament again. For the second time, this international marching band tournament will be held at Benteng Reborn Stadium in Tangerang City.
This year’s IDCI event in Tangerang City will be held from August 1-4, 2024. The tournament will feature approximately 2,000 marching band athletes from 32 teams from four countries: Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Dr. Nurdin, the Acting Mayor of Tangerang City, attended the opening ceremony and expressed his enthusiasm and support for the IDCI event, which brings together 32 teams from Indonesia and abroad. The event aims to strengthen Tangerang City’s identity as a sports tourism city.

“Thank God, the parade was lively, and the community was enthusiastic. This is proof that Tangerang City is ready to become a city worth visiting by both domestic and international tourists through its sports tourism,” said the Acting Mayor at the opening event on Friday (02/08).
Additionally, Dr. Nurdin hopes that events and festivals, both local and international, can help boost the economy and tourism sectors. He stated, “Thank God, the excitement is certainly felt and has positively impacted the economic sector. We have checked that hotels are fully booked, and MSMEs are also empowered, allowing economic circulation to continue.”
Responding to this, Hari Doyo Sugianto, President of IDCI, expressed his appreciation to the Tangerang City Government for the support provided. “The second year in Tangerang City is certainly thanks to the extraordinary support from the Tangerang City Government, which has allowed us to get this far since, without their help and support, we would not be here,” Hari added.
