Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Head of IKN Infrastructure Construction Task Force, Danis H. Sumadilaga, accelerated the completion of clean water infrastructure in Nusantara Capital (IKN) to respond to President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo’s statement regarding his moving plan, which was postponed due of the lack of basic infrastructure in the area.
According to Danis, the supply for clean water in IKN will be ready next week and the trial has been started since Wednesday (07/10) at 10pm local time.
“This is appropriate to our promise, on 10 July at 10pm we just started the commissioning test,” voiced Danis.
Meanwhile, the Spokesman of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), Endra S. Atmawijaya, affirmed, “We strive to finish it; the Minister has agreed it sticks to the schedule, namely conducting commissioning test in the midst of July, after this I hope no more trouble comes.”
Endra, further, explained there are several stages in the clean water commissioning, including drinking water installation, transmission, and distribution network. Building this infrastructure, Endra conveyed that PUPR has collaborated with numerous parties.
“This construction involves multiple parties, so, commissioning process will be carried out in the last process. The consultant, owner, experts, and operators will be tested,” uttered Endra.
According to Endra, when the installation of clean water and electricity is complete, the President can work in IKN directly. However, the President’s schedule to move to IKN remains undisclosed as it depends on the President’s direct instruction.
