Heaptalk, Jakarta — The governments of Indonesia and Australia have collaborated to launch the Indonesian Tax Center in Australia (Intact Australia), as reported by Antara (07/12).
This institution serves as a leading research center and collaboration platform for Indonesian tax researchers and experts in Australia. As the only Indonesian tax center in Australia and one of only two international centers in the world, Intact Australia is committed to promoting research excellence, facilitating knowledge exchange, supporting policy development, and strengthening bilateral cooperation in taxation between the two countries.
Henderi Gunadi, Chairman of Intact Australia, expressed his pride in being a bridge between Indonesia and Australia in taxation. “Through research, publications, and collaboration, we hope to contribute to the development of innovative, fair, and sustainable tax policies for both countries,” Henderi stated at Intact Australia’s first webinar broadcast on the Directorat General of Taxation’s Youtube (07/12), as quoted by Antara.
Intact Australia has three departments: the research and academic publication division, the communication and public relations division, and the capacity development management division. This research center is expected to actively facilitate dialogue and joint research projects that address common tax challenges and opportunities.
On the occasion, the Director of Counseling, Services, and Public Relations of the Directorate General of Taxes, Dwi Astuti, hopes that this research center can play a role in supporting the development of better tax policies, improving tax administration, and enforcing bilateral cooperation between the two countries. In her closing remarks, Dwi expects Intact Australia to collaborate with 500 tax centers in Indonesia in disseminating tax insights and policies to the public.
