Heaptalk, Jakarta — Through its business entity PT Bina Karya, Nusantara Capital Authority announced its plan to build housing in the Nusantara Capital (IKN) area in collaboration with PT Agung Podomoro Land. This partnership marks the initial step of synergy in the housing development plan in the IKN to response the area’s housing needs.
In the initial phase, Agung Podomoro will build housing designated for civil servants. In the future, this developer group will also build commercial residential areas in Nusantara Capital. Agung Podomoro Land President Director Bacelius Ruru and Bina Karya President Director Boyke Prasetyanto signed the cooperation agreement in Jakarta (06/10).
Bacelius Ruru stated that Nusantara Capital is being built to achieve Indonesia’s goal of becoming a developed country in line with the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. “Built with a national identity, IKN will shift the development orientation to be Indonesia-centric and accelerate Indonesia’s economic transformation. As responsible citizens, we are proud to be part of the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision through our contribution to the construction of IKN,” Ruru said in his official statement on October 6.
Running several projects in Samarinda and Balikpapan
Agung Podomoro has conveyed its plan to contribute to housing development in the new capital through an investment interest letter sent to Bina Karya in March 2024. Ruru stated, “We are grateful to Bina Karya as the extension of the IKN Authority, which in this case took commercial actions by responding to our investment interest letter.”
Furthermore, Ruru conveyed that his party is astutely seeing opportunities as evidenced by multiple existing projects in Samarinda and Balikpapan that have been built over the past few years. These two cities in East Kalimantan are the main gateways to Nusantara Capital. “We are optimistic that this will create a promising captive market for the property sector’s development,” Ruru added.
Meanwhile, Boyke Prasetyanto appreciated his cooperation with Agung Podomoro. According to him, Agung Podomoro is a major developer group with a very strong reputation for building environmentally friendly and sustainable housing. “This is very much in line with the development principles of IKN that we have prepared. This cooperation further strengthens our confidence in building IKN as the capital of the future,” he concluded.
