Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia is bringing its on-demand service Gojek and fintech service Gopay to the Nusantara Capital (IKN) to promote the development of the digital economy around the region (06/07).
The presence of Gojek and Gopay in Nusantara Capital aims to facilitate mobility, food delivery, financial technology services, and secure digital payments that are easily accessible. This initiative is part of Gojek and Gopay’s commitment as Indonesian-born companies to continually strive for Indonesia by simplifying daily life through technological innovation.
Gede Manggala, Vice President of Region Gojek, stated that Gojek and Gopay, companies born and grown in Indonesia, have become an integral part of people’s lives by supporting their daily activities through technology. “This time, we are strengthening our commitment to serve a wider community around the IKN area. As a company created by Indonesians, continuously striving for Indonesia, this commitment aligns with the government’s spirit of building IKN. Together, we strive and collaborate to make this area a new growth center for the country, especially through technological advancements,” Gede Manggala said, as quoted by Pasardana (06/07).
Expanding its transportation service GoCar to IKN
Previously, in April 2024, Gojek expanded its transportation services to the Nusantara Capital area through its GoCar service. People traveling for official business or construction workers traveling to and from the IKN area can utilize the GoCar Instant service at Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Airport, Balikpapan. The Nusantara Capital area is approximately 101 km from Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan, a journey that takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. To reach the new capital, people can now utilize dozens of GoCar vehicles at the airport’s GoCar Instant pick-up point.
Additionally, the GoFood food delivery service has gradually been introduced around the IKN area. This service supports community activities while empowering local SMEs. Dozens of local SMEs are registering to become part of the GoFood ecosystem to optimize their digital product marketing through the Gojek app.
Furthermore, the presence of the GoFood service is expected to provide income opportunities for the surrounding community by becoming a GoRide (two-wheel transportation service) driver-partner and, in the future, equipping food stalls/grocery stores with digital payments using GoPay.
