In terms of fund distribution, Indonesia has become the first country in APAC to benefit from this program.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — Google announced that it will support over 10,000 Indonesian digital talents through Telkom Indonesia’s digital talent development and Kominfo’s Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS) Program.
“We announced the distribution of Google Scholarship Career Certificates will be delivered through DTS program initiated by Kominfo and Telkom Indonesia. This support can benefit over 10,000 students, job seekers, and professionals,” stated the Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy of Google Indonesia, Putri Alam, in Jakarta (06/03).
In the occasion, Putri stated that the measure can help scholarship grantees to obtain digital skill and technology mastery certificate, particularly for AI skill.
Prior to this announcement, Google reportedly allocated USD15 million to support AI skill development in Asia Pacific. The fund is distributed through AI Opportunity Fund Asia-Pacific which was managed by Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN). This program also receives support from Asian Development Bank (ADB).
In terms of fund distribution, Indonesia has become the first country in APAC to benefit from this program. While the total allocated fund for Indonesia is undisclosed, this action has sparked significant interest from social organizations, inviting them to submit their proposals to help Google reach more people needing AI training.
