Heaptalk, Jakarta — Bank Mandiri collaborates with NavaPark BSD to facilitate green homeownership loans (KPR) in South Tangerang. The green KPR is a financing facility for customers who purchase properties in housing projects that have received green building certification from a certification body.
This collaboration offers multiple attractive promotions, including a super special interest rate option of 2.70% fixed for three years or 3.70% fixed for five years. To provide installment certainty amid market uncertainty, Bank Mandiri also offers a super special tiered fixed interest rate for up to 10 years, starting from 3.97%.
The super special interest rate promotion from Bank Mandiri for the NavaPark project is valid until May 31, 2024, or according to further notifications from Bank Mandiri. NavaPark also offers special benefits exclusively for Bank Mandiri customers who apply for green homeownership loans.
Contributing to achieving government’s NZE target
NavaPark is a residential project joint venture between Sinar Mas Land and Hong Kong Land, located in BSD City. NavaPark BSD obtained Greenship certification from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) with a Platinum rating in 2022. To achieve this rating, the residential project underwent various stringent assessments, including land ecological enhancement, movement & connectivity, water management & conservation, solid waste & material management, community well-being strategy, building & energy efficiency, as well as innovation & future development.
Aquarius Rudianto, Director of Network & Retail Banking at Bank Mandiri, stated that this collaboration is a form of the bank’s commitment to supporting the government in achieving the Net Zero Emission (NZE) target by 2060 or sooner. “Bank Mandiri will support the government in reaching the NZE target. The green homeownership loans are one of Bank Mandiri’s contributions to increasing sustainable economic appeal for customers and developers, especially in the property sector,” said Aquarius.
As of March 2024, Bank Mandiri has disbursed a sustainable financing portfolio in accordance with the Sustainable Business Activity Category (KKUB) under POJK 51/2017 amounting to Rp264.4 trillion, representing 23.7% of total credit (bank only), or an increase of 13.9% YoY. The disbursement under the green financing category amounted to Rp130.5 trillion, representing 11.7% of total credit (bank only), or an increase of 19.7% YoY.
One of the categories in green financing is environmentally friendly buildings that meet standards or certifications, amounting to Rp6.7 trillion, which includes retail financing through the green homeownership loans program. This green financing innovation is part of Bank Mandiri’s efforts to integrate the environment, social, and governance (ESG) framework into its financial products through the sustainable banking pillar. Under the vision of becoming a sustainable champion in the banking sector, Bank Mandiri continues to strive for the development of a low-carbon economy in Indonesia.
