Heaptalk, Jakarta — In-vitro diagnostic (IVD) company, Sysmex Indonesia, organized the CEO Forum 2024 which took place at the Raffles Hotel, Ciputra, on Thursday (05/16). Adopting theme of Leadership in the Digital Health Revolution: Navigating Change and Cultivating Innovation, the event assisted industry leaders to network, share knowledge and experience, respond to challenges, and formulate joint strategies to advance Indonesia’s health system through the integration of digital technology.
Sysmex Indonesia CEO Forum 2024 was inaugurated by Emilani Nababan as President Director of PT Sysmex Indonesia and drew a diverse audience. More than 150 directors from 90 hospital and laboratory institutions in Indonesia, hospital management associations, JICA Indonesia, and the Japanese Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia converged to participate in this significant event.
“As a company committed to advancing innovation in health services, Sysmex is enthusiastic about holding the Sysmex Indonesia CEO Forum 2024 in Indonesia,” said Frank J. Buescher, President & CEO of Sysmex Asia Pacific.
Buescher further said, “Besides doing business in the IVD industry, Sysmex also wants to contribute further as a partner with the government, hospitals, laboratories, and other health associations in providing education and updating knowledge in the health sector, following Sysmex’s mission to contribute to the development of progress in health services.”
On this occasion, Buescher also stated that the Indonesian Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, has been promoting digital transformation since 2022. However, when adopted by health facility providers, digital transformation faces various challenges in its implementation.
Meanwhile, Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, Dr. Dra. Lucia Rizka Andalucia, Apt, M.Pharm, MARS, who represented the Minister of Health at this event, stated, “Digitalization of health has the potential to be a major factor in health transformation, which provides support for connectivity between stakeholders, making the actual conditions of the health system more transparent, reducing information asymmetry between administrators and the community, and creating a more effective and efficient health system. For this reason, cooperation from all stakeholders is needed to navigate this development towards a better and more equitable health system for the community.”
Lucia added, “The Ministry of Health appreciates the presence of the CEO Forum 2024 initiated by Sysmex Indonesia. The Ministry of Health wants to realize a comprehensive health transformation, one of which is through digital transformation in health services. We believe that collaboration between leaders and decision-makers in hospitals and laboratories is key in facing complex health challenges, and we hope that this forum will be a starting point for closer cooperation between various parties in accelerating health transformation in Indonesia.”
Health Technology Expert Staff of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Setiaji, S.T., M.Si added, “Digitalization of health is the key to increasing access, efficiency and quality of medical services in the future. With collaboration and joint commitment initiated by Sysmex, we will accelerate the realization of excellent health services.”
Adding a different point of view, Caroline Riady, CEO of Siloam Group, saw that this event helped understand the situation and strategize in improving hospital health services. “CEO forum initiated by Sysmex Indonesia; this is a forum to share experiences and increase insight in dealing with situations, challenges, and the implementation of digital technology in accelerating health service innovation, especially in private hospitals, where Siloam also always plays a role in patient service and improving health services in Indonesia.”
Rapid technological developments, including in the health industry, such as telemedicine services, artificial intelligence (AI), extensive data analysis, and sensor technology, are changing the understanding of health facility providers in diagnosing and managing health. The Sysmex Indonesia CEO Forum 2024 is expected to explore the potential for digital transformation in the Indonesian context, which has unique challenges and opportunities in accelerating the realization of an inclusive, efficient, and innovative health system.
