Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s Food Agency (Bapanas) adjusted the Reference Purchase Price (HAP) for Corn to Rp5,000 and the Cost of Purchase Price (HPP) for Grain to Rp6,000. This step proves government support for farmers and livestock breeders amidst increases in several aspects, such as fertilizer prices and land leases in Indonesia.

“We also adjusted the HPP for harvested dry-shelled corn, with a moisture content of 15%, worth Rp5,000 from the previous price of Rp4,200.” Head of Indonesia’s Food Agency, Arief Prasetyo, affirmed.

According to National Food Agency Regulation No. 5 2022 concerning Purchasing References at the Producer Level and Sales Reference Prices at the Consumer Level for Corn, Purebred Chicken Eggs, and Purebred Chicken Meat, the reference price for dry-shelled corn with 15% moisture content at the producer level is Rp4,200 per kg, while the reference sales price at the consumer level is Rp5,000 per kg.

To equalize the price, the Head of Indonesia’s Food Agency affirmed that his party will also increase the HPP for grain to Rp6,000 per kg. “We will determine the price of grain to Rp6,000, from the previous price of Rp5,000. The price of grain in some places reaches Rp4,800, Rp5,200, and Rp5,400, depending on each region. We will continue to strive for Bulog to prepare off-take at a price of Rp6,000.”

According to National Food Agency Regulation No. 6 2023 concerning government purchasing and fractional prices for grain and rice, HPP GKP at the farmer level reaches Rp5,000 per kg and GKP at the milling level Rp5,100 per kg. Meanwhile, HPP for milled dry grain at the milling level reached Rp6,200 per kg, and GKG at Perum Bulog’s mill reached Rp6,300 per kg.
