Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) continues to take action to restrict the movement of online gambling activities.
According to the Minister of Communication and Informatics, Budi Arie Setiadi, Budi said that people who are addicted to online gambling have the potential to commit criminal acts. “Refers to government data, online gambling activities are dominated by young people aged 17-20 years. As a result, they can commit crimes, such as laundering, robbery, and other bad social impacts.”
To minimize the cases, the Minister urged society to continue reporting this via the aduankonten.id website. If they find an online gambling site that is still active, the government will immediately terminate access.
“We look forward to the society’s support in reporting the gambling site and taking it down as soon as possible,” Budi explained.
Furthermore, he elaborated on the government will eradicate online gambling through synergy and collaboration between ministries and institutions. From the upstream side, Kominfo will play a role in cutting off access to online gambling content. The Ministry has also warned the overall social media, cellular, and internet providers to avoid the online gambling site promotion.
“We at the Ministry will continue to be fully committed to eradicating online gambling. On the other hand, we have also gathered all our teams to work together to resolve this issue.” Budi concluded.
