Heaptalk, Jakarta – On Wednesday (13/03), Balaraja Hospital in Tangerang held a free health service cleft lip and cleft palate surgery process.
The Acting Regent of Tangerang, Andi Ony, attended the event to witness the process firsthand.
Before the fellow reporters, Andi Ony stated, “The cleft lip and cleft palate surgery service in Balaraja Hospital is free for public, not only for Tangerang Regency’s citizen, but also outside the area such as Serang and DKI Jakarta.”
He expressed his gratitude to all parties that actively participated in holding the health social service. He hoped this event is helpful and can be executed regularly and become an exemplar for other parties to do the same thing.
“Thank you for all parties involved. Hopefully, this program can continue and become a regular program so many children can regain their smile,” he said.
Meanwhile, the CEO of Balaraja Hospital, dr. Corah Usman declared the health social service is a collaboration between Tangerang District Government through Balaraja Hospital. Several parties involved, such as namely the Attorney General’s Office, PMI Tangerang Regency, and the Prosperous Smile Foundation (Smile Train) and ERHA. There are 16 children passed the screening to undergo a surgery.
“Currently, we only undergo surgery for 16 children, with a minimum age 3 months and minimum weight 5 kg for cleft lip and palate, and cleft palate at least 9 years old with a minimum weight of 10 kg. The requirement is to only bring ID Card and family card,” he explained.
Dr. Corah hoped, citizens whose children suffer from cleft lip and palate conditions can be helped through this program.
