Heaptalk, Jakarta — Pertamina and its subsidiary, Pertamina New Renewable Energy (NRE), seized two awards as a company that consistently provides publications on new renewable energy, the environment, and sustainability issues and an award for the Most Sustainable Communication Company in the Mining and Energy category.
Presented by Nusantara TV, in collaboration with media reporting and social media conversation research company Binocular, the assessment process for this event follows three points, including:
- Program innovation, such as company efforts to communicate sustainable programs.
- Communication performance, such as information and management approaches transparency to the public regarding the accomplished sustainability programs.
- Program impact is caused by communicating the company’s sustainability program.
In response to this award, Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fajar Djoko Santoso, said, “This award is an appreciation of our commitment to being environmentally, socially and governance responsible in every aspect of our business. On the other hand, disseminating information and educating the public are also critical steps to spread the importance of the energy transition.
The company continues to strengthen the renewable energy sector, green businesses, and low-carbon solutions. This state-owned company currently has several portfolios, spanning solar power plants, geothermal power plants, biogas power plants, steam power plants, natural gas power plants, carbon credit trading, nature and ecosystem-based solutions (NEBS) initiatives, clean hydrogen, batteries, and electric vehicles.
Proven to boost the country’s sustainability, previously Pertamina also succeeded in winning five international awards at the 2023 Global Corporate Sustainability Awards (GCSA) in multiple categories, covering:
- The Sustainability Reporting Award is titled “Silver Class of 2023” for Pertamina’s 2022 Sustainability Report.
- Four awards for Best Practices Award and Great Practice Award of 2023, devoted to the PT Pertamina EP Donggi Matindok Field, Pertamina EP Sukowati Field, Pertamina Hulu Mahakam, and DPPU Adi Sumarmo Solo.
