Heaptalk, Jakarta — The West Kutai’s Communication and Informatics Department (Diskominfo) performed a strategic meeting with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) to discussed several matters related to strengthening the digital ecosystem in the region. By this move, East Kutai’s Diskominfo aims to synergize the implementation of electronic signatures (e-signature) on financial documents and developing information security system governance in the West Kutai Regency.
Head of the West Kutai Diskominfo, Rustam, conveyed, “We appreciate the strategic support of BSSN, specifically for West Kutai development. With their contribution, the future e-signature implementation is expected to continue to be widely used by the region’s state civil service (ASN) as this scheme is one of the SPBE indicators.”
In its implementation, Rustam explained that around 150 district government entities, including 33 department heads, have adopted this e-signature scheme. To increase the efficiency of bureaucratic processes, he targets that all ASNs, including DPR entities, in the regions are required to adopt e-signature for various documents by 2024.
However, regarding financial documents, Rustam revealed that his party still look forward to the regulations issued by the Ministry of Finance to use the e-signature scheme in financial documents. For this reason, the Head of West Kutai Diskominfo will focus on socializing the adoption of electronic signatures for general activities in the early stages.
“Implementing electronic signatures in West Kutai needs to be optimized because our OPDs still question the implementation in financial documents. This matter affected the adoption of e-signatures, which only reached 150 users. For this reason, we will coordinate with all OPDs regarding this progress. From now on, we will also target entire ASN to utilize this method next year,” stressed Rustam.
Apart from discussing e-signature usage, this meeting also examined the information security system reinforcement in the district. According to Rustam, West Kutai still encounters several obstacles related to signals and blind spots in multiple locations. To resolve this issue, the Regency will work together with BSSN to construct a Computer Security Incident Responses Team (CSIRT) that provides services to organizations to prevent and respond to information security incidents.
Responding to this move, the Functional Sandiman Associate Expert at BSSN, Dwi Kushandono, said, “We are prepared to provide socialization, online information security index measurements assistance, and the formation of an online CSIRT team. Regarding electronic signatures, BSSN has become the sole facilitator regarding this electronic signature service. We will also continue to facilitate ASN in Indonesian regions to implement this method, which is expected to increase efficiency,”
