Heaptalk, Jakarta — Bersama Digital Data Centres (BDDC) conducted a topping-off ceremony in completing BDDC JST 1 (Jakarta – South – East) development as a tier IV data center in Jakarta.
In its operation, this data center will focus on increasing capacity, efficiency, and reliability in strengthening digital infrastructure as a critical element for the digital ecosystem in various industries in the archipelago. The establishment of BDDC JST 1 is claimed to be the most significant data center with a capacity of 32 megawatts (MW), becoming the city’s first Tier IV data center.
During the ceremony, Minister of Communication and Technology Informatics Budi Arie Setiadi, revealed that Indonesia’s data centers possessed enormous potential, with an estimated value of around US$47 billion. With this tremendous opportunity, he looks forward to the data center managers can serve the community, specifically in the digital ecosystem, as a critical element in digital transformation.

With Indonesia’s internet penetration attaining 78.19% in 2023, BDDC company perceived the utilization of data centers in cities has become a primary priority in diverse industries, particularly global and local companies that provide cloud service, technology companies, and various industries penetrating the digital sector such as finance, banking, insurance, logistics, manufacturing, oil and gas.
