Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy continues to develop human resources in the tourism villages through its innovative program, one of which is the Tourism Awareness 5.0 Campaign.
During the Weekly Brief agenda, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno revealed, “The development of Tourism Villages is the main initiative in advancing community-based tourism through the Tourism Awareness Campaign (KSW) 5.0 program, which is specifically focused on building awareness, developing the mentality and productive character of village communities.
Furthermore, this program is supported by intensive and continuous assistance that aims to empower the community to manage and develop the potential of tourist villages independently and sustainably. This Tourism Awareness Campaign has been running for two years, initiated by multiple stages, from socialization training to mentoring. Sandi said this program has entered the appreciation stage, which will be implemented in Jakarta on November 24-25, 2023.
Simultaneously, the Director of Tourism Human Resources Development at the Ministry of Tourism, Florida Pardosi, explained that this campaign is a strategic endeavor to renew Indonesia’s society mindset to be an active contributor to create a more conducive climate regarding the regional tourism agendas.
“We look forward to the community being more independent in developing sustainable tourist villages with this program. At the peak of this program appreciation event, we will hold three activities, including the Tourism Awareness Festival, Tourism Village Workshop, and Tourism Village Appreciation Night,” added Florida.
In the assessment process for this campaign, a Jury Member for the Tourism Awareness Campaign program, Sugeng Handoko, explained that there were exciting things that could be seen before and after for tourist villages that received assistance.
“We needed extra time because the process was tight on the first judging night. I believe this program will positively impact human resources in the village. I am confident that this movement can encourage human resources capability to succeed in Indonesia’s villages to enter the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).” Sugeng Concluded.
