Heaptalk, Jakarta — President Joko Widodo is confirmed to visit West Kutai Regency on November 3, 2023, according to an official statement from the Presidential Secretariat Press Bureau. Regent FX Yapan affirmed that a visit to West Kutai has been included in President Joko Widodo’s official agenda. Regarding this matter, the event committee currently still coordinate with the President’s official team about the the President’s agenda following his arrival in West Kutai.
In general, the main agenda for the 24th anniversary of West Kutai includes President Joko Widodo’s visit on November 3 and the peak of the celebrations on November 5 which will be filled with Muri’s record-breaking for the largest number of people wearing woven rattan bags anjat, a colossal dance, and musical performances from Happy Asmara and Republik band.
“I ask all elements of Forkopimda, DPRD, OPD, district heads, high-level officials, and customary heads to mobilize their citizens to attend this big agenda in Barong Tongkok, Sendawar. This is our collective pride to welcome and witness directly the head of state present here to encourage and support the success of sustainable development in the West Kutai region,” urged FX Yapan at the opening of the Dahau Festival at the Sendawar Cultural Park (10/23).
Further, Yapan invited the West Kutai Regency Government and all levels of society to continue the spirit of struggle in realizing sustainable development towards a more prosperous West Kutai.
“This momentum is not only a ceremonial event. More than that, I invite all the people of West Kutai to uphold the spirit of unity, caring, and sharing with others without distinction of ethnicity, religion, and class as well as to love our cultural customs. I am optimistic that with the spirit of unity, caring, and sharing, we will be able to face all the challenges of the future,” FX Yapan voiced.
In his closing remarks, FX Yapan asked all OPDs to work hard in achieving the utmost performance in welcoming the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) according to the theme raised this year ‘Through the Dahau of the 24th West Kutai, we are grateful and support the development of IKN in East Kalimantan Province.’ (Translated by Sinta)
