By the end of 2023, BBN Airlines Indonesia aims to present a fleet of nine aircraft, while currently, it has two Boeing 737-800F aircraft.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — BBN Airlines Indonesia has obtained an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Transportation on August 31, 2023. AOC is mandatory for companies that operate aircraft for air transportation activities.
The certificate was handed over by the Director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operation, M. Mauludin, to the Chief Strategy Officer of BBN Airlines Indonesia, Martynas Grigas.
Having this certificate, the airline stated that it had complied with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards and Indonesian aviation regulations. Additionally, the airline also fulfilled the technical and safety requirements as an AOC holder. In the near future, BBN Airlines Indonesia will start its commercial operations to support the rising demand for aviation in Indonesia, primarily during peak seasons such as Umrah, Hajj, and Eid.
To materialize this goal, the airlines has prepared two units of Boeing 737-800F aircraft for cargo services. By the end of 2023, BBN Airlines Indonesia aims to have a fleet of nine aircraft for three main services, spanning aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI), air cargo, and aircraft charter.
Established in 2022 as part of BBN Cargo Airlines
According to the Chief Strategy Officer of BBN Airlines Indonesia Martynas Grigas, the AOC dedicated to serving Indonesia’s aviation needs, including airlines, tour operators, cargo, and logistics.
“We see high market demand, especially during peak seasons like Umrah, Hajj, Eid, and other special occasions, creating spikes in cargo distribution. This is our opportunity to support airlines, logistics companies, and tour operators with reliable, swift, secure, and comfortable services,” Grigas said.
