Regional regulation draft on Archive Management Guidelines is highly needed for East Kutai for digital and manual archives as both have their respective functions.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kutai Regency Government and Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) have approved the regional regulation draft on Archive Management Guidelines in the Regional Government to be ratified as a regional regulation. The approval was produced during the 9th plenary meeting of the East Kutai DPRD in the Sidang Utama Room of the DPRD (06/06).
The session was chaired directly by the House Speaker, Joni, who was accompanied by Vice Speaker II Arfan. In his final opinion, East Kutai Regent Ardiansyah Sulaiman said, “Archive management is needed to support administrative activities more efficiently, starting from data collection, borrowing archives, to restoration and also archive preservation.”
Further, Ardiansyah expressed his gratitude to the chairman of the meeting who had given him the opportunity to convey his final opinion regarding the draft regional regulation. According to him, this approval is a reflection of the partnership between DPRD and the regency government.
Moreover, during the process of discussing the draft, various views and suggestions emerged which were very likely to trigger cross-opinions and arguments. Ardiansyah added, “All of this is simply a reflection of democracy to achieve the best and quality local regulation formulations. Hopefully what we have done can bring the maximum benefit to the whole community.”
Meanwhile, the chairman of the special committee for the Regional Regulation Draft of Archive Management Guidelines, Novel Paembonan, emphasized that archival management is highly needed in a government, both digital and manual archives, all of which have their respective functions.
In addition, according to Novel, a government without good archival management will experience many issues, primarily if there are lawsuits. “All stages of discussing the draft regional regulations have been completed by a special committee based on the applicable laws and regulations,” concluded Novel.
