The East Kutai DPRD’s recommendations contain several issues to be followed up, spanning inventory of regional assets and debts and addition of health workers.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kutai Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) held its 8th plenary meeting with the agenda of submitting recommendations from the special committee (Pansus) on the accountability report (LKPJ) of the East Kutai Regent for the 2022 fiscal year (05/16).

The meeting was moderated by the House Speaker, Joni, and attended by Vice Regent Kasmidi Bulang, 25 council members, representatives of the Regional Leader Coordinating Forum (Forkopimda), heads of regional apparatuses, and other invitees.

The chairman of the special committee for accountability reports and a member of Commission B for the Economy and Finance of the East Kutai DPRD, David Rante, asked the local government to be more efficient in allocating and being accountable for the 2022 LKPJ.

According to David, there are still a number of issues that needs to be followed up immediately according to applicable regulations, including an inventory of regional assets and debts as well as the addition of health workers, primarily specialist doctors.

He added, “Development of infrastructure and basic fulfillment for the community, exploration of sectors outside of mining and oil palm plantations for East Kutai area’s original income, as well as post-mining anticipation.”

After the meeting, the East Kutai Regent Ardiansyah expressed his appreciation to the special committee of LKPJ who had carried out the control function of the policies carried out by the government well. This function is also part of the responsibility mandated by law.

Ardiansyah voiced, “I think this is what will make the government system run more stable since the Regional House of Representatives is watching and we will continue to make improvements.”

Of all the recommendations submitted by the special committee, Ardiansyah considered them a positive vitamin for the government. Ardiansyah stated that he will immediately assign related regional apparatuses, including finance, development and economic management, staffing arrangements, and territorial arrangements, to follow up on these recommendations.
