QRIS on Delivery (QOD) payment of Lazada has been accessible to around 80 cities throughout Indonesia, whereby Lazada Logistics operates.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — Lazada Indonesia introduces a QRIS on Delivery (QOD) as a new payment method by scanning the QR code as a non-payment option for its users.
This e-commerce observes the Quick Response Code Indonesia Standard (QRIS) payment method as one of the payment methods that are increasingly being used by the public because the transaction method is easy by scanning a QR barcode and can be used with various digital wallet and mobile banking applications.
According to the Bank of Indonesia (BI), the country’s QRIS users amount has increased by 15.95 million people, becoming 28.75 million users in December 2022. BI estimates the output will continue to grow due to the support of Payment System Service Providers (PJSP) that facilitates QRIS payment in Indonesia. To date, BI notes the registered PJSP has touched 98 companies from the banking and non-banking companies.
The Executive Director of Lazada Indonesia, Ferry Kusnowo, admitted “Lazada is the first e-commerce platform in Indonesia to offer QRIS on Delivery (QOD) digital payments for various digital wallet applications and mobile banking applications in the archipelago, for customers who select a Cash on Delivery (COD) payments method,”
Prior to providing the QOD payment system, this Alibaba-backed e-commerce platform cooperated with Indonesia’s e-wallet DANA to grant digital QRIS for users who prefer to perform a cashless payment method. The launch of this QRIS on Delivery payment has been accessible to around 80 cities throughout Indonesia, whereby Lazada Logistics operates. Couriers will provide this payment option when delivering the goods to the customer. Users only scan QRIS with multiple digital wallet platforms and mobile banking applications supporting QRIS, including the DANA application.
“By introducing QRIS on Delivery payment, we expect that the delivery process of goods will become more efficient and safer. Customers can also easily scan barcodes and purchase according to the total amount paid. Through this payment scheme, we intend to simplify our couriers to perform stuff delivery packages more quickly to customers,” concluded Ferry.
