Heaptalk, Karawang – In commemoration of World Hand Hygiene Day, celebrated annually on May 15, B. Braun Indonesia, a medical techco headquartered in Germany, conducted an educational program on hand hygiene for 350 students at SDN Kalihurip 1 Elementary School in Cikampek, Karawang, West Java, on Thursday (05/23).
The initiative is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in the fields of education and health. With employees volunteering as facilitators, B. Braun Indonesia aims to instill proper handwashing habits from an early age to prevent the spread of diseases.
During the agenda, volunteers demonstrated correct handwashing techniques and explained their connection to health and academic performance. The program aligns with the World Health Organization’s (WHO) 2025 World Hand Hygiene Day theme, “It might be gloves. It’s always hand hygiene,” emphasizing the importance of hand hygiene in daily life.
Rainer Ruppel, President Director of B. Braun Indonesia, stated that early education is a strategic step. “Children not only protect themselves but also have the potential to become agents of change in their families and communities. Good habits taught from an early age will have long-term benefits for their health,” he said.
Furthermore, Ruppel added that B. Braun Indonesia actively encourages its employees to participate in volunteer activities, particularly in health education.
The “Clean Hands, Bright Future” program is part of B. Braun Indonesia’s ongoing commitment to supporting public health and fostering a healthier generation through CSR initiatives focused on education and health.
