Xiaomi unveils Redmi A5 smartphone and Redmi Pad SE 8.7 tablet

Heaptalk, Jakarta — Xiaomi has introduced its latest devices, the Redmi A5 and Redmi Pad SE 8.7, targeting a wide range of users, from students to the elderly. Both devices will be available for pre-order starting March 25, 2025. They offer strong performance, camera capabilities, and battery life, ensuring users stay connected and productive.

Andi Renreng, Marketing Director of Xiaomi Indonesia, stated that the launch of the Redmi A5 and Redmi Pad SE 8.7 is a testament to the company’s commitment. The Redmi A5, in particular, is being introduced globally for the first time, with Indonesia as a key market. “With these devices, we aim to ensure that more people can enjoy an optimal digital experience,” Andi said (03/21).

This smartphone has an Octa-core processor and up to 8GB of RAM, enabling smooth multitasking, lag-free video streaming, and seamless light gaming. It features a 5200mAh battery and comes in three color options: midnight black, sandy gold, and lake green.

The 32MP AI camera with night mode delivers clear and sharp photos, even in low-light conditions. Security features such as fingerprint scanning and face unlock protect your device from unauthorized access. The Redmi A5 starts at an affordable price of Rp1,199,000, making it an excellent choice with its comprehensive features.

This tablet boasts an 8.7-inch display with crisp image quality. Dolby Atmos technology enhances the experience of watching movies, listening to music, or browsing social media. Its 6650mAh battery allows users to work, study, or enjoy entertainment for extended periods. The device has three color variants: graphite gray, aurora green, and sky blue.

The Redmi Pad SE 8.7 can also be a portable cashier device for small business owners, facilitating smooth transactions without significant additional costs. The tablet is available online at Rp1,499,000 and offline at Rp1,599,000, offering great value for those needing a versatile tablet.
