Heaptalk, Jakarta — Tokai Communications Corporation (Tokaicom), the telecommunications arm of Japan’s Tokai Group, has announced its expansion into the Indonesian market by offering cloud services in collaboration with Sisnet, an Indonesian IT infrastructure company (09/02).

Through Tokaicom Mitra Indonesia (TMI), the Japanese group will provide Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud services, having been certified under AWS’s partner accreditation system. Working with Sisnet, TMI will leverage the knowledge, experience, and skills of both Tokaicom and Sisnet to offer integrated technology for AWS implementation consulting, construction, and operations supporting customers’ digital transformation.

Under the AWS partner certification system, Tokaicom is recognized as an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner, the highest level, indicating strong technical expertise, support capabilities, high-quality service, and a wealth of case study references across various fields that can benefit business needs.

Multiplied IT market in Indonesia

Indonesia, with a population of 280 million, is the largest economy in Southeast Asia and the fourth most populous country in the world. The country is experiencing rapid digitalization and economic growth, with many Japanese companies expanding into the country. The IT market has also been multiplying, particularly in recent years, with technologies such as cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) driving Indonesia’s digital transformation forward.

Tokaicom President Director Takahashi Tsuyoshi stated, “As an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner, which is the cloud market leader in Indonesia, TMI is very proud to expand into the rapidly growing domestic cloud market, which is even projected to reach US$2.14 billion in 2024.”

However, Takahashi highlighted that many organizations have not adopted public cloud technology for various reasons. He hopes that TMI’s presence in Indonesia can meet the need for high-quality managed cloud services, enabling businesses to transform seamlessly, effectively, and efficiently.

More specifically, TMI will offer services related to AWS, including defining requirements for servers and networks, designing and building infrastructure, implementation support, consulting on migration from on-premises or other clouds, guidance post-implementation, and monitoring and managed services.
