Heaptalk, Jakarta — Telin, a Telkom Indonesia‘s subsidiary, has announced its partnership with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) to develop the Indonesia Cable Express System 2 (ICE System 2) to enhance Indonesia’s telecommunications infrastructure. Representatives from both parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the Bali Annual Telkom International Conference (BATIC) 2024, held in Nusa Dua, Bali (08/28).
This collaboration marks a significant step in meeting the growing demand for high-quality and efficient connectivity in key regions across Indonesia and its surroundings. The ICE System 2 is designed to provide connectivity at multiple landing points throughout Indonesia, including Jakarta, Surabaya, Balikpapan, Makassar, and Manado, and will also offer a crucial link to Singapore.
Both parties will develop the infrastructure by expanding connectivity that links IOH and Telin’s Points of Presence (PoP) to the ICE System 2. This effort is expected to strengthen the telecommunications network, delivering top-tier connectivity while maintaining cost-efficient development.
Budi Satria Dharma Purba, CEO of Telin, is optimistic that the collaboration with IOH on ICE System 2 will create a robust telecommunications network that supports Indonesia’s digital economy. “We are excited about realizing this project, securing smooth and reliable connectivity for businesses and consumers,” Budi Satria Dharma Purba concluded.
