According to Andri, businesses should ensure server optimization towards their usage of cloud technology to save expenses.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — An Information Technology (IT) company, Crayon, introduces a Defender for the Cloud. In collaboration with Microsoft, this innovation is expected to simplify customers’ IT security teams to manage the security of the used cloud platform.
Amidst the increasing digital ecosystem worldwide, a cloud implementation trend in the business sector also exemplifies significant growth over the last four years. Refers to the PwC report, more than 80% of companies in Indonesia have operated cloud services to elevate business scale and reach efficiency.
However, the Pre-sales Technical Lead of Crayon, Andri Hendrianto, observed businesses in Indonesia still possess numerous challenges to deploying cloud technology, specifically on the security side. Andi viewed that security matters can be noticed from two sides: infrastructure and data.
“I think the infrastructure in terms of a cloud sector is the responsibility of two parties, or generally known as sharing responsibility, that should be borne by a cloud provider and the customers,”
Defender for Cloud will address users’ obstacles in advancing the security of the cloud resources created, from the operating system to upper systems. Nevertheless, regarding the platform-as-a-service, Andri claimed each of its security levels had been resolved by the provider. Meanwhile, Andri stated that data security remains the customers’ responsibility.
In more detail, as a part of a multi-cloud strategy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud could be utilized to conduct management security and automation of adopted cloud services, such as Azure and AWS. Moreover, using this concept, businesses can explore various cloud service models at a more affordable cost that suits business expenses.
“The concept of multi-cloud has become a necessity. We see that now companies have adopted servers from many brands, as customer demands continue to hunt for cloud investment costs with more reasonable and optimized prices,” added Andri during the 17th BFSI IT Summit, Jakarta.
Perceiving the rapid growth of multi-cloud services in Indonesia, Andri affirmed that companies should ensure server optimization towards their usages, expecting to save expenses on cloud technology.
To continue generating a maximum advantage for business operations, Andri encourages businesses to conduct asset inventory towards the adopted cloud services to be further optimized. Afterward, companies are anticipated to arrange the standard operational procedure internally for their cloud services to be developed aligned with the market demand, expecting to retain well-cost optimization with more efficient usage of human resources.
