Heaptalk, Jakarta — Cloud computing has grown rapidly and become the new normal in this era of Industry Revolution 4.0. According to Frost and Sullivan research, in 2024, most companies (57%) saw that their workload or applications had been positive.

By 2026, IT decision-makers in Asia Pacific plan to migrate 40% more of their remaining data centers on-premise to the cloud. At the top, 95% or more of the companies have said that they need a cloud partner or provider, which is indeed designed for resiliency.

Seeing the magnitude of cloud industry potential specifically in Indonesia, AWS is investing more than US$5 billion in the country over 15 years. The investment is expected to support over 24,700 full-time equivalent jobs annually. In advance, the firm aims to add approximately US$10.9 billion to Indonesia’s GDP annually.

“We believe in and invest in Indonesia. This is the cornerstone of our existence in Indonesia, that the AWS data center has been there since December 2021. We are very proud to see that the innovation that our customers have made in AWS in Indonesia touches almost all aspects of life,” Anthony said in the AWS Jakarta Office in South Jakarta (03/04).

Surprisingly, MSME in Yogyakarta, Apotek K24, has also used AWS services. Anthony voiced, “For us to see that the innovation being made, not only in large companies, but also in small companies outside Jakarta, is very proud.”

Along with the cloud computing industry, this country’s opportunity for generative AI is also tremendous. According to Statista, the generative AI market is projected to reach $315 million this year alone. By 2030, growing at 40% plus CAGR, it will reach $2 billion. “We are also very proud to see our customers across industry doing a lot of innovative generative AI on our platform,” Anthony added.
