Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) revealed that passengers on high-speed train Whoosh expanded by 30% during Eid 2024, departing approximately 26,000 passengers.
According to PT KCIC Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa, passenger volume is expected to rise as ticket sales remain online and offline on Friday (04/12). Overcrowding continues at counters and ticket-purchasing machines for reservations and go-show purchases.
This increment is mainly due to departures from Halim Station to Padalarang and Tegalluar Stations. A significant passenger increase was seen since Wednesday afternoon (04/10) and Thursday (04/11). Eva explained, “After performing Eid prayers, many passengers immediately used Whoosh to stay in touch with family or travel and vacation in Bandung and vice versa.”
In more detail, KCIC monitored that Halim’s departure on Thursday (04/11) was a popular route, with departures starting at 07.55 and 08.20 to 12.00, with passenger occupancy reaching 80-95%. Ticket sales for the April 12 departure also soared, with occupancy at preferred times reaching 85%.
With 52 trips per day, passengers have many Whoosh travel alternatives for their needs. Its headways during peak hours reach 25-30 minutes, giving passengers high flexibility.
