Heaptalk, Jakarta – Tiket.com, one of Indonesia’s biggest online travel agents, has recorded order growth of 122% in the fourth quarter compared to the previous quarter last year. This significant enhancement demonstrated a great public enthusiasm in tourism that signals recovery conditions in this sector.
When the Covid-19 pandemic has struck Indonesia, the Government has enforced traveling or vacation restrictions between regions. However, conducting almost all activities at home allows society to feel bored. People required alternative ways to enable them conducting vacation to have new experience or atmosphere as the refreshment. The solution also should prioritize the customer’s safety towards the virus infection.
After heeding the customer’s demand, Tiket.com has adapted to the condition by presenting promotion and performing collaboration related to the market. The form of this adaption was reflected in their promotion that provides discounts up to 50% for hotel, attraction, and airplane by the end of November last year. The collaboration between Tiket.com and Antis, a brand that is well known for its health product, proved that the travel agent is greatly concerned about the customer’s health. Through this action, the Company is able to survive, even created records.
“In the fourth quarter 2020, we have successfully engraved a better record than the previous quarter indeed,” confirmed Maria Risa Puspitasari, VP Brand Marketing of Tiket.com.
In addition, the attainment escalates great optimism towards the recovery of Indonesia tourism. Despite the slow tourism recovery, its steady progress brings an expectation that the condition will turn into normal immediately.
“Although the progress is slow, the tourism revitalization runs steadily. So as there is hope and we can estimate the duration of recovery, whether it spends six months, one year, etc,” added Maria.
By this optimism, in 2021, Tiket.com has implemented the previous business strategy proven successful last year while developing new features. For the new features, the Company has launched Tiket To Do, a menu that allows customers to easily access attractions or activities around their destination to tone up their holiday.
Meanwhile, the Company also presents Mendadak Online Tiket Week (OTW) held 5 – 11 April 2021. This promotion offers a discount up to 50% with the additional discount is up to 30% for every category in its features, such as a ticket for train, airplane, rent a car, airport transfer, as well as the new feature, namely Tiket TO DO.
On the side of health protection, the Entities has improved its system by delivering free travel insurance and has covered the protection for life, medical expenses due to accidents, as well as compensation for trip cancellation and the costs of consumer infected by the Covid-19 during the trip. This facility’s formation is presented to accommodate the public needs in performing traveling so as they can enjoy their holiday safely and comfortably.
Although the protection is provided, Gaery Undarsa, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Tiket.com stated that people should keep applying the health protocol, even after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine’s shot. He also added that all of these actions aim to support rejuvenation in national tourism.
