Heaptalk, Jakarta — In collaboration with BRI, Samsung has launched the BRI Credit Card in Jakarta. This new credit card is the first to be integrated with Samsung Pay.
With this integration, consumers can enjoy many conveniences, such as card registration, checking limits, checking reward points, and converting transaction installments directly without switching to another application. Additionally, cardholders receive many other exclusive benefits when purchasing Samsung products and even additional benefits when buying other products.
“The Samsung BRI Credit is our efforts to provide convenience to consumers by offering a transaction solution with plenty of benefits directly from the smartphone in hand through Samsung Pay. With this credit card, loyal Samsung customers can save more on transactions with reward points and enjoy optimal loyalty rewards benefits, including easy, interest-free installments for a long period,” said Lo Khing Seng, Head of MX Business, Samsung Electronics Indonesia.
BRI Consumer Business Director Handayani revealed that the Samsung BRI Credit Card is the result of a collaboration between two major industry players that will change the future of digital financial services in Indonesia. This collaboration is possible because both companies share the same values and believe this partnership can be mutually beneficial.
“This cooperation is a form of BRI’s support in increasing financial inclusion and cashless transactions in Indonesia by providing access for the public, especially Samsung users, to obtain credit cards easily and quickly by leveraging the advantages of digital technology.
Furthermore, Handayani explained that the co-branding cooperation between BRI and Samsung for credit cards involves marketing collaboration and provides API service cooperation, enabling Samsung users to access various Samsung Card credit card services through the Samsung Pay application. These services range from online credit card applications, application status checks, and card delivery to card activation, card information checking, transaction history, billing, point redemption, installment conversion, and card blocking.
Samsung Card uses Visa’s leading global payment network, allowing cardholders to shop in over 200 countries and territories and access more than 130 million merchants worldwide.
Vira Widiyasari, Country Manager of Visa Indonesia, stated, “The Visa Consumer Payment Attitudes Study reveals that most Indonesian consumers prefer card payments for transactions such as at supermarkets, retail shopping, and travel. Furthermore, every segment from Boomers to Gen Z has a high interest in paying with installments, especially in the categories of gadgets, fashion, and home appliances, which aligns with one of the attractive features of the Samsung Card, namely 0% installments,”
