Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) delivers full support to PT Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) in providing livable housing during the biggest Indonesia property expo, IPEX 2022. The expo held from 15 to 22 May is expected to facilitate people to find affordable livable properties and also to promote national economic recovery.
“We (the Ministry of PUPR) hope this event can be a great moment to expedite the compliance of people’s desire towards the property necessities. The event also will contribute to the national economic recovery through the property sector,” stated the Ministry of PUPR, Basuki Hadimuljono in his speech that was read by the Director-General of Housing PUPR, Iwan Suprijanto in the opening of IPEX 2022 (15/05).
Basuki also invites the entire stakeholders, particularly property developers and banks, to build a great synergy in order to answer the challenge of providing adequate property provision by capitalizing Government’s subsidy. The Minister highlighted the importance of cooperation to delivering a good quality property to society.
“The Authority poised to cooperate with all stakeholders to materialize livable property for people in order to support “Onward Indonesia”. We would like to deliver our appreciation to BTN and property developers who join the exhibition. We hope the event can enhance Indonesia’s economy during the post-pandemic,” added Iwan.
In the speech, Iwan mentioned that this event brings a positive effect on the national economy, thus, the organizing of the expo is expected to be performed in other provinces across Indonesia. As the focus of IPEX is millennials, the Authority mentioned that it had implemented the Million House Program that is expected can assist the generation in obtaining their first properties.
“IPEX 2022 is the golden moment for millennials to own their first house as the developers and banks offer multiple promotions. Recently, lofty developers have adopted Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) while building their properties. This concept allows the tenant to access public transportation effortlessly,” uttered Iwan.
Responding to the Government’s statement, the President Director of BTN Haru Koesmahargyo said that the Bank had set about USD102 million of mortgage loan potency that comes from three approaches. The plans consist of a non-subsidy program of USD61.5 million, a property subsidy program of USD20.5 million, and shariah program of USD20.5 billion. In terms of the booking fee target, BTN plan to attain about USD13.7 million, including the non-subsidy program of USD8.2 million, the subsidy program of USD2.8 million, and the shariah scheme of USD2.8 million.
