Salesforce’s investment today in the UK builds on a previous five-year investment of US$2.5 billion in 2018 to drive innovation and support its growing customer base.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — A global leader in CRM, Salesforce, is reportedly to increase investment value in its United Kingdom business becoming US$4 billion in the next five years. This announcement comes as Salesforce starts its World Tour London: AI Day, the company’s largest-ever UK event.

Welcoming this exciting intention, the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister “Salesforce’s significant investment in its UK business over the next five years is a ringing endorsement of our economy. It will strengthen the company’s UK presence, increasing capacity and creating vital jobs, reinforcing our position as one of their largest markets outside the United States. This investment sits alongside my key priority to enhance the economy and pledge to make the UK the best place in the world to start, grow, and invest in tech businesses,”

Salesforce is experiencing rapid growth in the UK as companies invest in digital transformations and leverage the incredible innovation cycle around Artificial Intelligence (AI). The company has been investing in the UK for many years, and today’s investment builds on a previous five-year investment of US$2.5 billion in 2018. This continued investment in the UK will drive innovation and support its growing customer base.

Salesforce ecosystem in fueling growth across the UK

Refers to the IDC report, Salesforce, and its UK-based ecosystem and partners will create about 271,000 new jobs and generate US$66 billion in new business revenues by 2026. However, the emergence of generative AI is considered a powerful reminder of UK businesses’ digital skills crisis.

As a result, the company affirmed to inject new funds into digital skills training. Moreover, the company announced a grant of over US$1.3 million to bolster education programs in the UK. It is urging businesses and the government to work together to establish a national online digital skills platform to show people where to access the training they need.

This cloud company also provides upskilling opportunities through its free online learning platform Trailhead. To date, this platform has backed more than 5 million people to build their skills and prepare for the future of work with AI.

On the other hand, this CRM company based in San Francisco also continues to fuel innovation within the UK startup community through its Generative AI Fund to support the AI startup ecosystem and spark the development of responsible generative AI. Other investments in the UK cover Genesis Global, Onfido, Sequence, and Sylvera.

“This significant investment builds on our long-standing commitment to the UK. This country is home to several of the world’s most incredible, innovative companies. We are thrilled to work with them to drive the coming digital transformation in this new AI era,” said the Chair and CEO of Salesforce, Marc Benioff.
