Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s crypto trading startup Reku recorded a threefold business improvement following the official launch of the staking feature in June last year.
As an optimization strategy for users’ crypto assets, this startup revealed that the Staking feature could be an option for crypto investors facing volatile conditions. This feature enables users to earn rewards of up to 12.5% annually in exchange for participating in blockchain developments. On the other hand, users can benefit from the price enhancement of their coins and carry out the stake and un-stake process flexibly.
“The average monthly staking transaction volume tripled compared to last year. This output indicates a high interest in staking among investors. We are complacent about accommodating investors’ needs in optimizing investment strategies,” Co-CEO of Reku, Jesse Choi, said.
Will the staking feature adoption bump?
Reku observed that the implementation of staking features will continue to grow alongside the progressive adoption of blockchain and the development of existing decentralized applications. Ethereum’s transition from a proof-of-work consensus mechanism to proof-of-stake to secure and operating the network as the second largest crypto asset make the staking feature increasingly attractive in the crypto ecosystem.
This significant elevation also materialized in March 2024. According to Jesse, it coincided with the moment when Bitcoin hit All-Time High (ATH) at US$61,470 (around Rp. 1 billion) before the halving period, demonstrating a proper strategy of staking feature utilization amidst green or sideways market circumstances.
“Moreover, Many investors focus on long-term investments despite their limited time in trading,” Jesse voiced.
Staking will also evolve significantly through asset integration, including Ethereum. The security value of this asset is also relatively great in terms of calculations because staking rewards fluctuate according to the level of utility and network adoption, reducing hyperinflation that dilutes the staked crypto assets.
In the ongoing bullish crypto market momentum, staking schemes can be the right option, especially for non-trader investors. This momentum impacts the increasing demand for crypto assets. If this happens, Reku estimated that the scarcity value in crypto assets, such as Ethereum, is considered to perform faster than usual. With positive projections, Reku startup will continue to advance its staking services with comprehensive crypto asset preferences devoted to investors.
