Heaptalk, Jakarta — GoTo Financial, GoTo’s financial technology business unit, officially released GoPay Merchants, aiming to target Indonesian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) users.
The Group Head of Merchant Services of GoTo Financial, Haryanto Tanjo, expects that this Gopay merchant application can eliminate the existing challenges for MSMEs and facilitate their registration for QRIS to receive digital payments.
According to the Indonesian Payment System Association (ASPI), the number of merchants using QRIS reached 31.6 million in March 2024, an increase of around 24.6% compared to the previous year. Nevertheless, the adoption of digital payments among MSMEs still faces several challenges, including complicated registration processes, lengthy disbursement of funds, and inappropriate amount withdrawal.
For this reason, the GoPay merchant app includes features designed to meet merchants’ needs, specifically Quick Response (QRIS) adoption, flexible disbursement, and fraud prevention. Merchants can register for QRIS more quickly in just 30 seconds and use it immediately to receive payment. On the other hand, GoPay Merchants offers flexible disbursement, allowing Indonesian MSMEs to withdraw funds at any time and enabling them to manage their finances better.
GoTo embeds GoPay Spiker on its GoPay Merchant, enabling real-time voice notifications upon successful payment. Merchants can subscribe to this service for only Rp1,900 per day. This feature also furnishes two voice options: normal mode (default) and artificial intelligence. This Spiker feature can eliminate concerns around fraudulent transactions and the need for merchants to check the application to verify payments accurately manually.
“GoPay Spiker is an add-on feature. Users can use GoPay Merchant without this feature,” Haryanto affirmed.
The GoPay application has also previously gone standalone in 2023. In 2022, Gopay’s Annual User Transactions reached 63 million, dominated by transactions in the GoTo ecosystem, such as GoFood, GoCar, and GoRide. Transactions outside its ecosystem, such as paying for Netflix subscriptions, also boost the transaction growth.
