Heaptalk, Jakarta – The 22nd Jakarta Handicraft Trade Expo (INACRAFT) 2022 was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Jokowi expressed his appreciation for the event’s rescheduling.
Attending the event, Jokowi was escorted by the Minister of Cooperatives and SMES Indonesia, Teten Masduki, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Minister of Trade, M. Lutfi. The INACRAFT 2022 opening ceremony was also streamed live on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube site.
“First and foremost, I would like to congratulate you on the re-organization of INACRAFT in 2022, which highlights high-quality handcraft goods made by our artisans,” Jokowi remarked on Wednesday (23/3/2022).
Jokowi then addressed the people with an important message. He wants the Indonesia people to love and be proud on homegrown goods.
“I want the people to enjoy locally made things, particularly handcraft products, since this will promote our artisans and MSMEs,” Jokowi added.
Message from the Chairman of the Indonesian Association of Handicraft Exporters and Entrepreneurs (ASEPHI)
Muchsin Ridjan, Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Handicraft Exporters and Entrepreneurs (ASEPHI), stated that INACRAFT 2022 was held differently than previous years, especially after two years of a void caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The theme of INACRAFT 2022 is “From Smart Village to Global Market.” It will be held both online and offline.
This exhibition drew 722 visitors, including 510 individual attendees, 169 service participants, 43 participants supported by State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), and 150 online retailers. The exhibition will take place from March 23 to March 27, 2022.
“We are holding hybrid exhibitions both online and offline on a regular basis. So this activity revitalizes the national economy once more, as we have done 21 times in the previous years, and this is the 22nd. The difference is that it was previously only available offline and is now available online. We have a marketplace, and ASEPHI has a marketplace, and we’re also collaborating with Tokopedia,” said Muchsin”
West Java Province was chosen to be an exhibition icon at this year’s INACRAFT event by displaying superior and creative handicraft products as well as raising West Java’s local arts and culture under the theme “Smiling Heritage of West Java.” West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil hopes that the pavilion’s presence of various West Java handicrafts will inspire the community.
