Heaptalk, Jakarta — Wednesday, 3rd March 2021, Anies Baswedan, DKI Jakarta Governor, shared the Government’s acts in handling the COVID-19 pandemic through a digital transformation at the Kata Data conference. According to Anies, to overcome the corona pandemic, the Government has applied three principles through digital transformation, includes transparency, science engagement, and collaboration with all parties. These principles are embodied in an IT-based tool named JAKI.
In his sharing session, the Governor delivered his statement about the definition of crisis. In his opinion, people and the Government should view the crisis from a positive perspective. The crisis is a catalyst for realizing changes because it stimulates people to be more creative and innovative to keep up with the condition.
“We (the Government) view the crisis as an accelerated change. It is an opportunity for expedited change. In terms of positive perspective.” said Anis at the Kata Data conference (02/03/2021).
Afterward, Anis stated that the Government is not the only party that plays a role in managing the crisis; society, experts, and stakeholders are also needed. He said that the corona pandemic is a common problem. Thus the Government should materialize collaboration with all parties.
“The Government is not the only party (to beat COVID-19 pandemic). The Government collaborates with the right stakeholder as co-creators.” Said Anis at Kata Data Conference. (02/03/2021)
As the implementation of the collaboration, DKI Province has cooperated with many experts in fields required to determined measures in anticipating the COVID-19. The experts then demanded a database to form a strategy based on data.
At this point, the role of digital transformation emerged. The Government released innovation in digital transformation, namely as https://jaki.jakarta.go.id and JAKI Application.
Anis mentioned JAKI as an outstanding application that integrated logistics, education, and health data. This excellent application presents comprehensive and detailed data, especially about COVID-19, that even integrated with the smallest unit of government administration, neighborhood unit (RT), and community unit (RW).
Anis also claimed that JAKI is connected with all public services in Jakarta that provide COVID-19 tests so that the data is actual and accessible. Through this integrated system, the head of the neighborhood unit and community unit can access data about their residents, so monitoring covid-19 transmission is more effective. This application also facilitated the Province and related parties to predict actions to cope with the crisis.
The creation of this application is a form of collaboration of the DKI Government with potential young generations that are innovative and professional. Anis stated his pride through the young generation that put up their energy to establish this application to bring spectacular benefit.
“I express that the young generation involved with the process (to create this application) makes me proud. They are young, oriented to the solution, some of them are studying in best universities, and have an outstanding working experience.”
He also explained that this collaboration enhances technology and enhances collaboration that encourages synergy and leads to positive changes.
“The program (JAKI) adopt collaboration that facilitated by technology, so this is not only the process of advancing technology, but our working procedures also change.” Added Anies. (WLN)
