Baskit startup has reached several markets in Indonesia‘s regions, including West Java and the Greater Jakarta Area, generating business growth up to twofold monthly.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — A supply chain startup Baskit has received a new capital injection worth US$1.5 million, or equal to Rp22.6 billion, in a pre-seed funding round led by investment firm Forge Ventures. Other investors, including Sketchnote Partners, DS/X Ventures, Prasetia Ventures, and several global and regional angel investors, also back this investment round.
On the other hand, this startup that focuses on supply chain digitalization has obtained initial support from investors and leading industry veterans, such as the Chairman of Petronas and Former CEO of Transmart and AEON, Shafie Samsuddin; Modalku’s Founder, Renold Wijaya; Fung Investment’s COO, Ankit Sethi, the APAC Foodpanda/Delivery Hero Officers, Jakob Angele, Pedram Assadi, and Arun Makhija; and leaders and former heads of global brands in Indonesia.
Baskit will utilize its fresh capital to enhance the technology infrastructure, develop an industry practitioner team, augment strategic partnerships with multiple stakeholders, and broaden its geographical reach in West Java and Central Java while foraging a relevant leader to improve its technology.
Established in 2022, the company viewed a lack of efficiency of traditional distribution chains, particularly in the middle layer, which demonstrates several constraints, including product stock-outs, incomplete data, and losses because of expired products.
The Chief Executive Officer of Baskit, Yann Schuermans, emphasized his party’s aim to be the preferred technology partner for business practitioners to unlock new chances and reach financial inclusion in rural regions by providing strategic support in terms of commercial and technology.
Moreover, Yann observed a downward trend in the e-commerce sector, specifically during the post-pandemic. Baskit’s CEO considered this new normal has generated consumer behavior shifting and supply chain pressure like inflation. By providing peculiar support through this platform, Yann intends to recover traditional trade and open up a more healthy supply chain access on diverse sides.
Existing as a digital supply chain company, Baskit offers three primary solutions, covering a sales enhancement feature, digital tools for operational efficiency (inventory management and bookkeeping basis), and access to working capital that has been channeled through the KoinWorks platform.
During the business journey, this startup has increased its business growth twofold every month. Besides, this startup has also reached multiple markets in Indonesia’s regions, including West Java and the Greater Jakarta Area. Currently, Baskit comprises about 20 employees.
“Indonesia remains one of the most dynamic economies in the region. Despite global uncertainties, we are excited about the long-term potential of this market. Baskit’s innovative approach will drive sustainable change for all stakeholders in the distribution ecosystem,” The Partner of Forge Ventures, Tiang Lim Foo, said.
