Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk incubated Indonesia’s climate tech startup, Automa, by providing strategic investment through the Indigo incubation program. This measure expects to reduce its carbon footprint through sustainable development in the supply chain industry.
Indigo’s financial assistance, provided as part of Telkom’s Leap Digital program, is being used to develop Automa’s products and services further. This measure enables Automa to offer more comprehensive and innovative solutions for businesses, with a strong focus on environmentally friendly approaches through IoT.
“Telkom continues to combat climate change and build a healthier future by harnessing technology. Through the Indigo program, we support innovative startups with tangible solutions for reducing carbon footprints in a sustainable approach. We can create a more environmentally friendly digital ecosystem through this measure and drive economic growth,” Telkom’s Director of Digital Business, Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid.
As one of Indigo’s incubated startups, Automa has emerged as a leader in using Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the supply chain sector. The startup has proliferated in optimizing and decarbonizing supply chains across Indonesia. By incorporating IoT, Automa significantly enhances operational efficiency by reducing operational costs by about 15% – 20% and optimizing route planning and fuel consumption.
Automa offers various eco-friendly solutions, including the Transportation Management System (TMS), which incorporates IoT to help businesses track their fleets’ location, speed, and condition. The system provides real-time fleet data, optimizing routes and logistics, which helps reduce CO2 emissions.
Additionally, Automa provides a carbon tracking service that aids businesses in reaching their carbon emission reduction targets, improving efficiency, and enhancing supply chain resilience. Another critical service, Energy Modelling, helps companies to develop more effective energy-saving strategies and optimize the use of renewable energy.
“We are delighted to partner with Telkom through the Indigo program. Telkom’s assistance will help us accelerate the development of IoT technology for the supply chain industry and realize a more sustainable supply chain in Indonesia,” Automa’s Founder, Alfonsus Arista Tefa.
Since its establishment in 2013, the Indigo program has become a critical pillar in Indonesia’s digital startup ecosystem. The program has incubated and accelerated over 200 local startups across various fields. In addition to supporting digital startups, Telkom is committed to environmental sustainability. The company actively nurtures green technology startups and decarbonization solutions to reduce Indonesia’s carbon footprint.
