Heaptalk, Jakarta – The second wave of the Jakarta International Handicraft Trade Fair (INACRAFT) is poised to return on October 26- 30, 2022. The most awaited handicraft expo is claimed will deliver fresh concepts by involving the young generation to showcase their innovative products.
“The previous INACRAFT held on this early March has successfully captivated people’s enthusiasm. This response inspired us to hold the second wave of INACRAFT to grant spaces for others who get no space yet. The organizing of this event also is one of our measures to revive the national economy together,” stated the Chairman of the Association of Exporters and Producers of Indonesian Handicraft (ASEPHI), Muchsin Ridjan, during the INACRAFT 2.0 press conference (04/10).
In addition, Vice Chairman III in the field of Public Relations and Inter-Institutional Relations, Baby Jurmawati Djuri stated INACRAFT 2.0 would implement the fresh concept to greet its newcomers, millennials, and gen Z. This step also is carried out to regenerate the handicraft industry.
“We perform expansion by involving the young generation and diversify our products categories. To embody this goal, we conducted consolidation, creating a new concept that will be more ‘cozy’, and inviting youth-preneur to break the stigma, INACRAFT is not only for the elderly,” said Baby (04/10).
Under the auspices of ASEPHI, INACRAFT 2.0 will adopt a hybrid concept. The live event will take place at Jakarta Convention Center, specifically in Assembly hall, Plenary Hall, and Main Lobby and followed by 370 booths.
The Director of PT Mediatama Binakreasi as the organizer, Umi Noor Wijiati mentioned that 90% of the participants would come from ASEPHI’s members, and the rest, or 10% of the total booths, are SMEs guided by the Ministries and Stated Own Enterprises. Umi affirmed that the request for the available booth keeps growing, but the space is fully booked.
In terms of an online scheme, ASEPHI has collaborated with a multinational company, Silversea Media, to present an immersive virtual exhibition. Vice Chairman II in the field of Creative Industries, IT, and Promotion, Muchamad Ali Jufri stated, “In this October, we will present INACRAFT 2.0 with a virtual transformation that adopts AI technology and immersive digital view.”
The organizing of INACRAFT this October is expected to attract 50,000 visitors. The event is estimated will generate retail transactions of Rp65 billion with a trading contact of Rp1 billion. Umi delivered that the amount of trading contact potentially exceeds the estimation as the former INACRAFT has successfully achieved Rp780 million.
In its implementation, ASEPHI announced that the ticket is free, but keep applying Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment (CHSE) protocol. Considering the conducive condition in the post-pandemic and the strategy applied, ASEPHI believes this event will successfully assist Small Medium Enterpreneurs (SMEs) to revive.
