Heaptalk, Jakarta — Imajin, an Indonesian manufacturing startup, has officially launched the Imajin Advanced Manufacturing Center (IAMC) to bolster the archipelago’s manufacturing industry.
The company delivered that the IAMC establishment is designed to transform ideas into tangible products, enhance skills development, and support local startups and MSMEs, which is expected to reduce dependence on imports, specifically for mass-produced goods.
The CEO and Co-Founder of Imajin, Chendy Jaya, emphasized the center’s significance in providing access to advanced manufacturing technologies, such as 5-axis CNC Machines, which allow the production of complex products.
“The Imajin Advanced Manufacturing Center delivers high-end manufacturing technologies previously difficult to access in Indonesia. This center will support local product development and contribute to biomedical technology advancement in the country,” Chendy added.
As is known, Imajin’s facility is located within the Digital Hub, a 25-hectare commercial area in BSD City dedicated to technology-driven industries. Established in 2016, the Digital Hub is home to 38 national and multinational companies, including Microsoft, NTT Data, MyRepublic, SIRCLO, and Indonesia’s unicorn startups Traveloka and Tokopedia.
In 2023, Imajin obtained an undisclosed amount of seed funding led by East Ventures. Moreover, several parties backed this round, including 500 SEA, Init 6, and angel investors. Through this fresh injection, Imajin will allocate the capital to advance the product and services, augment the resources, and broaden its business network domestically and globally.
Since its establishment, this startup has cooperated with over 500 manufacturing companies: Mold Makers, Dies Makers, Injection, Stamping, and Fabrication. This technology startup in Tangerang has served over 100 customers, including local and Japanese enterprises in Indonesia. Imajin will continue to support other local manufacturers, particularly in the automotive industry.
“The Digital Hub, developed by Sinar Mas Land, is designed to support various technology and innovation activities. We believe Imajin’s presence with its Advanced Manufacturing Center will foster digital transformation and innovation, particularly in manufacturing.” CEO of Digital Tech Ecosystem & Development at Sinar Mas Land, Irawan Harahap, said.
