Heaptalk, Jakarta — Singapore-based startup focusing on AI-powered industrial maintenance and workplace safety solutions, Groundup.ai, has closed Series A funding at US$4.25 million, or equal to Rp71.6 billion, led by Tin Men Capital, with participation from existing investors Wavemaker Ventures and SEEDS Capital.
Groundup.ai will allocate the injection to expedite product innovation, scale its market presence across Asia and the Middle East, and expand into Australia, Europe, and North Asia. Additionally, the company will invest in talent acquisition and infrastructure enhancement to support enterprise clients in achieving long-term operational excellence. The new funding will also be used to enhance its AI capabilities further and adapt the platform for increasingly complex industrial environments.
“We aim to empower maintenance teams with intelligent tools that proactively detect failures, increase safety, and drive strategic value. Having Tin Men Capital onboard reinforces our mission of revolutionizing traditional industries with technology,” CEO and Founder of Grounup.ai, Leon Lim, said.
Established in Singapore, the company delivers Cognitive Maintenance as a next-generation approach that integrates proprietary sensors, autonomous AI agents, and deep machine learning to provide root-cause analysis and actionable insights. By going beyond conventional alerts, the platform enables maintenance teams to understand not only what failed but also why and how to prevent it in the future.
“Their pioneering work in Cognitive Maintenance delivers tangible intelligence that repositions maintenance as a strategic advantage. We are proud to lead this round and support their regional and global expansion,” Co-founder of Tin Men Capital, Jeremy Tan, said.
The technology of Groundup.ai has already delivered millions in operational savings for clients in various sectors, such as manufacturing, maritime, oil and gas, and defense. The solutions are currently deployed by multinational corporations and government-linked entities across Southeast Asia and the Middle East, with measurable returns on investment.
By leveraging sound and vibration data, the Investment Principal of Wavemaker Ventures, Joel Ang, claimed that the technology can detect anomalies earlier and more accurately. With over 90% accuracy, the solution enables industrial operators to act proactively, enhance safety, minimize costly downtime, and raise the bar for operational excellence.
“From day one, Leon and Alex have impressed us with their strong vision and a deep understanding of customer pain points. We are proud to partner with them on this journey,” Ang added.
