Heaptalk, Jakarta — East Ventures successfully closed the first edition of IndoBuild AI with its Demo Day on March (13/03). This landmark event underscored the firm’s commitment to advancing artificial intelligence (AI) innovation in Indonesia, providing a platform for AI-driven solutions to address real-world challenges.

IndoBuild AI, a dynamic initiative launched by East Ventures, is a collaborative space for AI innovators to develop, refine, and present solutions. The Demo Day featured 10 finalists who showcased AI applications across critical sectors such as healthcare, education, lifestyle, government, and agriculture. These presentations highlighted the transformative potential of AI in driving economic growth and addressing pressing societal issues in Indonesia.

The event was graced by a distinguished panel of experts, including Andrian Kurniady, CTO in Residence at East Ventures; Izak Jenie, Expert Staff for Health Digitalization at the Indonesian Ministry of Health; and Hokiman Kurniawan, Co-Founder and CEO of Meeting.ai. Keynote addresses were delivered by prominent industry figures, including Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, Director General of the Digital Ecosystem at the Ministry of Communications & Digital Affairs, and Ferro Ferizka Aryananda, Special Advisor to the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs.

“As we stand at the inflection point of AI, mastering this technology is no longer optional but essential. It is inspiring to see Indonesian startups leveraging AI to tackle everyday challenges, drive innovation, and enhance the nation’s global competitiveness.” Izak stated.

The winners of the inaugural IndoBuild AI competition were announced as follows:

  1. First Place: Lentera.ai, an AI-powered platform providing science-based insights on health products, designed to empower manufacturers, content creators, and marketplaces.
  2. Second Place: LeaseSync, a platform utilizing large language models (LLMs) to automate the analysis, consolidation, and management of lease agreements in Indonesia.

The winners will receive a total cash prize of US$915, approximately Rp15 million from East Ventures, and additional benefits and perks from IndoBuild AI’s supporting partners, including Alibaba Cloud, AWS, and Google Cloud.

Javear Pendang, representing the Lentera.ai team, shared his gratitude, noting, “IndoBuild AI provides a vital platform for creators like us to transform concerns into actionable solutions. We are honored that Lentera.ai resonated with the panelists and was selected as the winner.”

The conclusion of IndoBuild AI first edition signifies a pivotal step in Indonesia’s journey toward becoming a hub for AI innovation, with East Ventures at the forefront of this transformative movement.

Willson Cuaca, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at East Ventures, expressed his enthusiasm for the event’s success, stating, “We extend our congratulations to the winners and our heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their innovative solutions. The AI-driven innovations showcased today underscore the vast potential of AI in Indonesia. This event marks not an end, but a renewed commitment to fostering Indonesia’s AI ecosystem through impactful initiatives, investments, and partnerships.”
