Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kalimantan Government has organized the Forum Group Discussion (FGD), held in the Governor’s Office, Samarinda (11/03). Adopting the Measuring of the Readiness of Local Governments to Improve Education Quality in Welcoming the National Capital (IKN) as the theme, this meeting also presented the East Kutai regent, Ardiansyah Sulaiman, and five other regional heads in East Kalimantan to disclose the readiness of each district.
This FGD activity was carried out after the inauguration of the Regional Administrators of the East Kalimantan Province for the Association of Indonesian Education Scholars (ISPI) for the 2022-2027 term of service. The Regent Ardiansyah became the spokesperson with the Mahakam Regent, Ulu Bonfasius Belawan Geh; the Regent of Berau, Sri Juniarsih Mas; and the Regent of Paser, Fahmi Fadii.
After being the principal speaker, the Regent of East Kutai Ardiansyah explained to reporters that he was prepared to welcome the National Capital City (IKN) by implementing the urban forest-based concept. He further claimed this concept had been developed in this region.
“Through the concept of sustainable jurisdictional construction in oil palm plantations,” affirmed Ardiansyah, accompanied by the Head of the Protocol and Communication Division for the Leadership of the East Kutai Secretariat, Basuki Isnawan.
This concept is a part of the East Kutai Regency Government’s actions to cherish the environmentally friendly of this region. For this reason, he emphasized that the East Kutai Regency Government is expected to protect the environment, including the forest.
Responding to this point, Regent Ardiansyah revealed that the East Kutai region still possesses huge forests, reaching 60%. He further affirmed that this potential is still being preserved to maintain the equilibrium of nature and surroundings.
“We have to agree on this goal. As is well known, the IKN concept is an environmentally friendly capital city. I believe the National Capital City (IKN) construction program is suitable for what we have performed in the East Kutai district,” said Ardiansyah.
Previously, the ISPI inauguration event in East Kalimantan began with a welcome dance performance from SMA Negeri 16 Samarinda students. The event continued with the inauguration of the General Chairperson of the ISPI Center, Solehuddin. The inauguration agenda was attended by the Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan, Hadi Mulyadi, and Mulawarman University students, as well as several representatives of educational organizations.
