Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Omicron variant of COVID-19 cases has increased significantly in Indonesia. The presence of this third pandemic wave has made Dyandra Promosindo, a professional event organizer, determined to revise the organizing of the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) Hybrid 2022. This decision was made in line with the re-enactment of Community Activities Restrictions Enforcement (PPKM) level 3, which is meant to cut down on the number of people who become infected.
Dyandra decided to postpone the IIMS 2022 execution by prioritizing the safety factors of the entire parties involved in this exhibition during the pandemic. As a final decision, this automotive exhibition has been shifted to an alternative period on March 31st–April 10th, 2022, arranged with the JIExpo Kemayoran management.
Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, announced PPKM level 3 implementation in the Jakarta, DIY, Bali, and Bandung regions (07/02). The enforcement of this regulation is because of positive cases reaching 36,057 spread across 34 provinces in Indonesia. An infected enhancement is expected to continue in the next three weeks.
On the other hand, Indonesia’s Minister of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform, Tjahjo Kumolo, also suggested implementing work from home (WFH) for government institutes in the agglomeration areas (Jabodetabek). State Civil Apparatus (ASN) employees can work from office, but only 10% of all government institution employees can.
Dyandra’s President Director, Hendra Noor Saleh, revealed his statement regarding this automotive event schedule, “We observed the COVID-19 transmission cases to examine the necessary steps to minimize its spread. Prospective exhibitors have also suggested crucial points regarding the preventive endeavor of the COVID-19 virus. We decided to replace the schedule for organizing the IIMS 2022 exhibition that is still held in the early quarter of this year, starting from March 31st to April 10th, 2022, ”
This event organizer had anticipated a scheduled shift due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The Marketing Director of JIExpo, Ralph Scheunemann, also confirmed, “We have two organizing time preferences.” IIMS is one of the enormous automotive events at JIExpo, as in preceding years, “
Likewise, Hendra also concluded, “We have optimism that the pandemic situation will be more conducive. As always, we will comply with government regulations in tackling the COVID-19 issues. This step is expected to contribute to reducing transmission rates, particularly in the Jakarta region. “
