Grouu startup has served more than 950,000 meals this year, with the healthy food catering business contributing 80% to the company’s revenue.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — Baby food startup Grouu has secured additional funds from Teja Ventures for an undisclosed amount. Previously, this venture capital has also invested funds into this startup with an undisclosed amount, with participation from Arkana Venture and Javas Capital as of September 2022.
By this additional capital, Grouu will diversify its product, including packaging product development specifically designed to fulfill children’s nutrition. On the other hand, Grouu intends to enhance its digital platform performance by strengthening its omnichannel strategy in several e-commerce platforms and offline retail networks, such as supermarkets and baby stores.
The Founding Partner of Teja Ventures, Virginia Tan, observes high potential related to the mother and children progress in Southeast Asia, with the food market for babies value reaching US$9.48 billion in 2023. He also revealed that the value is estimated to increase YoY to 5.38% by 2028.

The company claims its products are made with quality ingredients without additional preservatives, colorings, and flavor enhancers, including salt and sugar. Besides providing non-monosodium Glutamate (MSG) products, this startup grants healthy packaged snack products for children and nutritional food catering subscription services for mothers and children.
Established in 2020, Grouu delivers daily baby food catering services directly to consumers’ homes. In 2021, Grouu served over 200,000 portions of weaning foods and obtained a Health Certificate (SLS) from the DKI Jakarta Public Health Office.
Hitherto, the startup has served more than 950,000 meals this year, with the healthy food catering business contributing 80% to the company’s revenue. Regarding business operations, Grouu has partnered with 30 satellite kitchen outlets to serve consumers in Jakarta Greater Area and Surabaya.
