Heaptalk, Jakarta — Telkom Indonesia’s subsidiary, Telkomsat, announced its strategic plan to provide digital connectivity service through cable, fiber optic, and wireless networks in up to 1,000 locations, particularly in multiple rural areas in Eastern Indonesia.
In realizing the equality of digital connectivity throughout Indonesia’s regions, Telkomsat provides high-speed internet services with download access up to 180 Mbps and upload up to 20 Mbps, devoted to the local MSMEs, enterprises, health service, and government, particularly in underdeveloped, frontier and outermost areas of Eastern Indonesia.
Currently, the President Director of Telkomsat, Lukman Hakim Rauf, delivered around local 100 Internet Service Providers (ISP) have subscribed to MangoStar, with a portion of 50% from eastern Indonesia. As is well known, MangoStar is a superior product of this company, with an enterprise-class connectivity connection performance. With its advanced connectivity, this product has contributed tenfold to the company’s customer enhancement in 2022 – 2023.
In boosting the digital service in eastern Indonesia, Telkomsat and VSAT Start also granted a high-speed internet service dedicated to the telecommunication demand in the Communication and Informatics Department in Papua Province.
On the other hand, Telkomsat has also released the MangoStart Maritim service as of September 2023, devoted to the maritime sector with a facility Network Monitoring System (NMS), download access speeds of up to 180 Mbps and uploads of 20 Mbps.
“We are targeting at least 1,000 locations managed by MSMEs and local ISPs in eastern Indonesia, expecting to serve tens to hundreds of customers. We will continue to maximize Telkomsat’s capabilities as part of the Telkom Group to support government programs regarding digital equality in Indonesia.” Director Lukman affirmed.
Telkomsat has also prepared nine gateways and 1 Point of Presence (PoP) to provide connectivity throughout Indonesia since August 2022. From now on, he emphasized that the company will continue collaborating with other stakeholders and provide satellite-based communication services with multiple ISP entities to equalize the digital ecosystem throughout Indonesia.
