Heaptalk, Jakarta — Telkom Group, a state-owned enterprise in the ICT sector, has made multiple preparations to optimize services during Christmas and New Year 2024/2025, including deploying 15,000 personnel on duty during this period. Telkom and Telkomsel are under the auspices of this SOE Group.
These personnel will be stationed at 409 points of interest in critical areas, including tourist spots. “Nationally, there are 409 points that we will monitor specifically where people will gather for holidays. Most of these are tourist spots,” stated Ririek Adriansyah, President Director of Telkom, in a press conference at Grha Merah Putih, South Jakarta (12/16).
Preparations for these festive service measures have started since May 2024 through cross-unit coordination and the preparation of infrastructure and services. Telkom has also conducted rehearsal tests to test the reliability and redundancy of services during Christmas and New Year 2024/2025.
Furthermore, the Group will establish Joint Posts, providing services from December 20, 2024, to January 2, 2025. Ririek added, “There will be our post teams in various regions throughout Indonesia, and in total, there will be about 15,000 personnel involved in these preparations to ensure that Telkom Group’s services, including Telkomsel, will run smoothly so that the public, especially Telkom Group users, will have a more comfortable holiday.”

Securing smooth communication
On the occasion, Arya Sinulingga, Special Staff for Communication Strategy and Public Relations at the Ministry of SOEs, conveyed that President Prabowo Subianto requested all government elements, including Ministries/Agencies and SOEs, to ensure that the public feels safe, comfortable, calm, and smooth during the Christmas and New Year 2024/2025 period, both for worship and holidays. This period is expected to last 9 days before and after D-Day.
“Telkom and Telkomsel also play a significant role in ensuring communication throughout the Christmas and New Year. Whether it is for those who are traveling or on holiday by land, air, and sea, we hope there will be no communication disruptions for travelers or those on holiday, ensuring smooth communication for everyone,” Arya said in a press conference at Grha Merah Putih, South Jakarta (12/16).
Besides Telkom Group, other SOEs related to services during Christmas and New Year have also prepared several measures to ensure comfort and smoothness for the public who are worshiping or holidaying. Pertamina has implemented a single fuel price policy at 19 airports. Angkasa Pura has cut service fees previously charged to passengers. State-owned airlines, including Garuda, Citilink, and Pelita Air, have also reduced fees previously charged to passengers.
